This article supports a deficit power law for ‘wall’ turbulent shear flows. For infinite Reynolds number flow the model predicts a power, which is a quadratic irrationality in good agreement with experiments (relative error less than one percent). (© 2016 Wiley‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
