Abstract We present the measurement and the simulation results of a single‐layer Omega slab and a double‐layer slab in order to verify the effective properties at different slab thickness. This study establishes the accuracy of the calibration and measurement of the phases of the S‐ parameters and validates the homogenization procedure in the measurements. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
