Abstract In this paper, an RF curve‐fitting predistorter is proposed to extend the linearized dynamic range of a power amplifier. AM‐AM and AM‐PM distortion of the power amplifier can be compensated by accurately adjusting the gain and phase gradients of the three‐reflection‐type diode predistorter. The proposed predistorter extends the linearized dynamic range by more than six times that of a conventional predistorter. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
