An overview is given of phenol electro‐polymerization in oxalic acid media, as a method of corrosion protection for Fe substrates. The work focuses on the electrical and/or chemical parameters of the system which mainly determine the growth and/or corrosion resistance of the organic‐inorganic films thus obtained. Quantitative evaluation of the barrier to corrosion provided by the coatings was carried out by the ac impedance technique.
