Accelerations of the specific growth rate during the exponential growth phase of Pseudomonas methanolica have been observed. There are also fluctuations of the consumption of methanol, the respiratory activity, the ATP content, and the activities of some catabolic enzymes. The content of poly‐β‐hydroxybutyric acid drastically increases up to 60% of the dry weight and then begins to be consumed. This is accompanied by the increase of some other cell constituents (RNA, protein).
