The methods for preparation of 14 C or 3 H labelled compound of 0‐(β‐morpholinoethoxy)‐diphenylether hydrochloride (MPE‐HCI) have been investigated. (1)Starting from guaijacol and 14 C‐bromobenzene (U), the synthesis of MPE‐phenyl‐ 14 C (U)‐HCI has been accomplished by a heterogeneous palladium‐catalyzed exchange reaction in a yield of 60%.
