The S N 2′‐mechanism is proved for the reaction of hexachloro‐propene to trichloroorthoacrylic acid methylester. Moreover 14 C‐labelled chloro‐C 2 ‐ and chloro‐C 3 ‐compounds given in reaction schemes 1–3 are synthesized.
