As potential P.E.T. imaging agents for the benzodiazepine receptor, two fluorine‐ 18 labeled analogues of the β‐carbolines were prepared via N‐ alkylation of the corresponding desbenzyl amine precursors with [ 18 F]fluorobenzyl iodide.
