Sodium 6‐isopropyl‐3‐[4‐(p‐chlorobenzenesulfonylamino)‐butyl]azulene‐l‐sulfonate (KT2‐962) 1 , which has been found to be a potent and selective thromboxaneA 2 receptor antagonist, was synthesized in 14 C‐labelled form by using potassium [ 14 C]‐cyanide. 14 C‐labelled 1 with a specific activity of 2.36 GBq/mmol was prepared with no‐carrier‐added and in nine steps in 64% overall radiochemical yield.
