DSP 4 (N‐(2‐Chloroethyl)‐N‐ethyl‐2‐bromobenzylamine, 1) is a neurotoxin, selective for neuronal noradrenaline (NA). Tritium labelled DSP 4 (4) with a specific activity of 105 mCi/mmol was prepared. The key step in the synthesis is a reduction of the aminoester 2 with activatated sodium boro [ 3 H]hydride thus forming the alcohol 3.
