Iodo‐hexadecanoic acid labelled with carbon 14 in the carboxyl group was obtained with good yield in three steps from [ 14 C] NaCN using bromopenta decyl tetrahydropyranyl ether 2. Specific radioactivity: 0.0166 mCi/mg; 6.34 mCi/mmol. Radiochemical yield: 69.6 % of the theoretical amount.
