N,N‐dialkyl‐carbamic acid‐trimethylsilyl‐esters were synthesized starting with 14 CO 2 . The new synthesis route is simple and provides good radiochemical yield. Silyl‐carbaminates directly or thorough carbamoyl‐halogenides may be used for preparation of labelled herbicides: carbamates, thiocarbamates and ureas.
