Activated palladium is used as catalyst for the hydrogen‐tritium exchange in tricyclic antidepressants. The specific activities obtained are: desipramine: 44.9 Ci/mmol; imipramine: 14.9 Ci/mmol; notriptyline: 2.0 Ci/mmol and amitriptyline: 1.7 Ci/mmol.
