This article applies the theories and methods of physics, mathematics, dynamics, information science, statistics and management science to develop concepts, definitions, basic theorems and research scopes in the area of management complexity; based on the theories of management entropy, it will establish a new metric for assessing management complexity and vectorial space, as well as mathematical modules. Some methods to enhance managerial effectiveness and efficiency have been proposed as a result of progress in this field. The researches so far have tried to enrich the complexity theories in management circles. As a case study of Shendong Coal Co. Ltd, the multi‐dimension metric assessment of the organizational complexity has been drawn up and verified.
