All the lessons learned in developing products for external customers often are forgotten when developing internal products. This is especially true when developing the infrastructure, processes in particular, for performing systems engineering. Processes usually are written in a design‐first approach with all the errors that such a process creates. There is a better way to develop processes. This paper addresses how to apply the systems engineering process to developing processes and their supporting infrastructure.
