The Railway Systems Engineering (RSE) team of the University of Birmingham is producing a new post‐experience course on the application of systems engineering for UK railway industry. The principal objective of this course is to give participants a detailed grounding in the application of systems engineering. The course work includes lectures, syndicate exercises, and laboratory workshop sessions. This paper presents our initial work on the course preparation, outlines the course contents, and discusses how the course will be delivered.
