In recent years, autostereoscopic display systems are primarily either obstructive or refractive types. This study proposes an alternative structure using a blazed grating and a layer of liquid crystal with designed geometry. The refractive index of the liquid crystal can be varied electronically and thereby allowing variable optimal viewing distance.
