The NTSC color gamut which characterized color reproduction capacity of a display device is conventionally defined as the ratio of the area of triangle formed by the R/G/B primary colors of the display to the area of triangle formed by NTSC standard R/G/B primary colors in CIE1931 or CIE 1976 color coordinate system In this paper, we suggest a new definition for NTSC color gamut which considers the overlapped area between the triangle formed by display's R/G/B primary colors and the triangle formed by NTSC standard R/G/B primary colors.
