In this paper, we introduce a steerable planar collimator which generates highly collimated light and steers the generated light via an assembly of slim optical components. The planar collimator has the capability of delivering out‐generated light to a pre‐defined area, steering the direction of generated beam and coincident multi‐directional light generation. The described capability can work for energy saving display, three‐dimensional display, and security or privacy displays.
