We use image enhancement algorithms to optimize the perception of automotive HMI for bright ambient light. Our “ΔL/L” tone mapping with color rendering enables easy integration of display parameters and was evaluated best by subjects. Various displays were examined and measured for comparison of enhancement methods incl. parameters and perception by subjects.
