We present a high‐resolution nematic LC cell with 3‐electrodes and a driving scheme. This allows simultaneous application of vertical and in‐plane electric fields to the LC layer. Both the switching ON and OFF time is less than 400 μs thus the operating frequency can be high up to 1 kHz.
