For reducing light leakage caused by photo spacer (PS) which increases the transmittance in black state of fringe field switching liquid crystal display (FFS LCD), the correlations of light leakage intensity with polyimide (PI), rubbing cloth, rubbing condition and pixel design were investigated in this study. The result indicated that applying the higher optical phase retardation PI, the result showed, could significantly improve the light leakage without decreasing aperture ratio.
