We have newly developed a hybrid 230ppi 3D display with both auto‐stereoscopic and glasses modes using time‐sequential OCB, a 4.3inch WVGA panel, and a light directional backlight. In the auto‐stereoscopic mode we can easily see full‐resolution 3D images and in the glasses mode we can additionally see crosstalk‐free 3D images from all viewing angles. Our hybrid 3D LCD is suitable for situations where users want to easily switch the two modes.
