Substance abuse relapse has been linked to a number of internal and external vulnerability factors. The authors explored the internal construct of Adlerian social interest (Adler, [Adler, A., 1956]) and the external construct of Hirschi's ([Hirschi, T., 1969]) social bonding to provide a holistic risk profile of relapse.
