Polyphenols interfere in thin layer chromatographic estimations of abeo‐iso‐α‐acids. A paper chromatographic technique for separating polyphenols from abeo‐iso‐α‐acids has been developed. English beers examined contained less than 6 ppm of abeo‐iso‐α‐acids.
