In his column, AWWA Executive Director Jack Hoffbuhr revisits the ever‐present and frustrating dilemma: Do we control technology or does technology control us? Hoffbuhr talks about how he is “technology‐challenged,” particularly when it comes to personal computers. His solution would be to issue passwords which would restore technology back to working order when it runs amok. (This column is adapted from Waterscape, September 1999, Journal AWWA)
