This article discusses a new dual oxidation control system that greatly enhances disinfection and dechlorination and matches oxidant feed to the ever‐changing loadings of organic and ammonia compounds. Integrating the parameters into a single control algorithm allows for each parameter to be weighed against desired results as well as fine‐tuning for specific applications. This control strategy can effectively maintain disinfection and compliance when a plant goes in and out of nitrification.
