This article discusses the Municipality of Metropolitan Toronto (Ontario, Canada) Act 1953. Called the “Metro Act,” it transferred the area's treatment plants and associated trunk water main system from the municipalities that owned them to Metro, making Metro completely responsible for the water supply.
