This article discusses a project by the Cuesta La Honda Guild (CLHG), La Honda, California, to explore the use of chloramination as an alternative to free chlorine. Seasonal variations in surface water quality made the process challenging and required laboratory testing for more than a year to determine the best approach. The article discusses a pilot study by CLHG to assess the benefits of using posttreatment aeration (PTA).
