This article summarizes new and proposed rules for small water systems that have recently become, or will soon become, effective. Chemical and Radiological Rules include: arsenic; radionuclides; and, Stage 1 Disinfectants/Disinfection Byproducts Rule (Stage 1 DBPR). Microbial Rules include: Filter Backwash Recycling Rule; and, Long‐Term 1 Enhanced Surface Water Treatment Rule. Upcoming rules include: Long‐Term 2 Enhanced Surface Water Treatment Rule; Stage 2 DBPR; and, Ground Water Rule. Also discussed are rule implications and alternative compliance options.
