Some small systems managers may think their system is not vulnerable to backflow incidents because their utility services mostly residential areas and common contamination problems posed by commercial enterprises are nonexistent. This belief has been repeatedly proven wrong. This article explains the basics of setting up a program that will get public buy‐in and protect drinking water.
