To address the problem of vehicles driving over a fire hose that crosses a street as part of a bypass situation or a flushing operation, the Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District developed the High‐line Vehicle Ramp. The device weighs approximately 40‐50 lbs. and is strong and durable, allowing the safe, transitional crossover of all types of traffic. It is included as standard equipment on field service trucks, allowing crews to devote more time to restoring water service to customers instead of directing traffic and repairing damage to high‐line hoses.
