This article describes a hydrant quick stop device that is designed to stop the water flow of a fire hydrant broken during operation. This tool can save a large amount of water loss, eliminate the need to shut down a main line in the event of a hydrant break, and serves as a safety feature by eliminating the danger of installing a standard valve on the hydrant nozzle under pressure. Materials, costs, construction and use are discussed.
