The Mahoning Valley Sanitary District of Mineral Ridge, Ohio has established a routine schedule of filter material replacement, calling for complete replacement of all filter sand every four years, along with replacement of underlying layers of gravel as needed. The eductor box, slurry, and screed used in the process are discussed in detail.
