Abstract The diagrams of the energy of RE ions in a crystal field with cubic symmetry are calculated by using the method of reduction symmetry. The main diagrams of the ions Ce 3+ , Pr 3+ , Nd 3+ , Sm 3+ , Eu 3+ are listed graphically.
