Abstract The title compound 1 consisting of two N,N,N′,N′ ‐tetramethyl‐ p ‐phenylenediamine (TMPD) units in a [3.3]paracyclophane system has been synthesized starting from 2 via 3 – 10 and 13 . The molecular structure of 1 is discussed on the basis of an X‐ray structure analysis. Electron‐donor properties of 1 are reported.
