It has often been said that police officers are a unique group. I can personally attest to the validity of that assertion and would add that the uniqueness is not just because of the work we do, or the training we undergo, or the stresses we endure. The essence of what makes a cop a cop goes far beyond the qualifications for the job and the everyday aspects experienced once you graduate from the police academy.
