Keine Biosynthese , sondern eine hoch konvergente Synthesestrategie führte zu einer Skelettstruktur des Sperma‐Antigens CD52 (siehe Bild). Somit gelang die erste chemische Synthese eines komplexen, durchgehend nativ gebundenen Glycosylphosphatidylinosit(GPI)‐Glycopeptid‐Konjugats.
