Communication: Polymeric films synthesized by the simple heat treatment of allene (propadiene) and several terminal alkynes exhibit a 10 9 fold increase in electrical conductivity when doped with iodine. The new synthetic method obviates the need for catalysts and the washing process needed to remove impurities from the polymer.
