Abstract The American Bar Association's Section of Dispute Resolution has established a task force on mediation quality, and has begun holding focus groups to find out what consumers think of mediation processes. The task force has a potentially expansive mission, but for now, the concentration is on commercial cases. The business executives who participated in the first focus group had views of mediation that raised some task force members' eyebrows.
