Functioning as a bidentate ligand toward Lewis acids, dibismuthane forms bisadducts of the type [R 3 M] 2 [Bi 2 R $\rm{^{\prime }_{4}}$ ] with R 3 M= t Bu 3 Al ( 1 ) and t Bu 3 Ga ( 2; structure depicted; R′=Et), which were characterized by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction.
