Photochemically labile Te(CH 2 CH 2 OH) 2 is the first tellurium( II ) thiolate with functionalized side chains. Its H 2 O complex, Te(CH 2 CH 2 OH) 2 ⋅H 2 O (see structure), is stabilized in the solid state by short O−H⋅⋅⋅S hydrogen bonds.
