Abstract A cytogenetic study was performed in 2 patients, one with reticulosarcoma and the other with lymphosarcoma. It was based on the peripheral blood lymphocytes cultured by the method of Moorhead et al. Qualitative and quantitative changes of chromosomal karyotypes, consisting of the occurrence of aneuploidy (in 34% of the cells analyzed), pseudodiploidy, marker chromosomes, and an increased size of satellites, were found only in the patient with lymphosarcoma. No chromosomal abnormality in peripheral blood leukocytes was observed in the patient with reticulosarcoma.
