Iris Recognition is considered as one of the best biometric method used for human identification and verification, because of its unique feature that differ from one person to another, and its importance in the security field. This paper introduced the two soft computing techniques of neural network which are used for pattern matching in iris recognition. This paper represents iris recognition based Competitive neural network Learning Vector Quantization (LVQ) and Adaptive Resonance Associative Map (ARAM) with essential redefinition of pattern similarity and also introduces the mixture model ARAM for the measurements of patterns.
