La vallée de la rivière Boyer, à une quarantaine de kilomètres en aval de Québec, est remblayée par des dépôts quaternaires appartenant au Wisconsinien et à l'épisode marin goldthwaitien. Le lit rocheux correspond à une rainure fluviatile préglaciaire d'environ 25 km de longueur, sise entre deux grandes crêtes appalachiennes orientées SO-NE. La mer de Goldthwait ayant atteint une cote voisine de 160 m vers 12 500 ans et le fond de la vallée remblayée étant à une altitude inférieure à 80 m. ce secteur aurait été entièrement submergé durant 2000 ans environ. Le relèvement isostatique de la côte sud du Saint-Laurent ayant entraîné un abaissement progressif du niveau de base, la rivière s'est alors encaissée dans les alluvions. Elle a donc creusé un nouveau lit, plus étroit celui-là que la vallée elle-même, dans lequel elle fait présentement des méandres. Dans le tronçon aval (environ 2 km de longueur) de la rivière Boyer, une terrasse de 8-10 m d'altitude a été entaillée par l'érosion. Dans les coupes, on observe à la base une surface d'érosion taillée dans l'argile goldthwaitienne (unité 1), surmontée d'une séquence graveleuse fluviatile (unité 2) contenant des troncs d'arbres et des débris organiques variés. Cette unité est elle-même coiffée d'une séquence de limon et sable fin stratifiés (unité 3) traduisant un changement du niveau de base. D'après les datations 14C obtenues, la surface d'érosion aurait été taillée avant 6000 ans BP, lors d'un bas niveau marin dans l'estuaire. Par la suite, le niveau aurait remonté légèrement et la rivière aurait alluvionné durant une période d'environ 2000-2500 ans. Cette phase aurait été suivie d'une transgression de l'ordre de quelques mètres qui aurait mis en place la séquence fine en surface. Les coupes décrites témoignent de ces événements holocènes.The Rivière Boyer valley, located about 40 km downstream from Québec City, is filled with Quaternary deposits of Wisconsinan age and of the Goldthwait marine episode. The valley floor cut in bedrock during preglacial time is located between two major Appalachian ridges oriented in a SW-NE direction. Since the Goldthwait Sea reached an approximate altitude of 160 m around 12 500 BP and because the bottom of the filled valley is less than 80 m in altitude, the area has been submerged during a period of about 2000 years. The isostatic rebound of the south shore of the St. Lawrence having induced a progressive lowering of the marine level, the river has incised a narrowed valley into the Quaternary deposits in which it meanders today. In the downstream section (about 2 km long), a 8-10 m terrace has been eroded by the river. All exposures show at their base an erosion surface cut into the Goldthwait Sea clayey deposits (unit 1). This surface is overlayed by a fluvial gravel deposit (unit 2) containing tree truncks and other organic debris. This unit is covered by a stratified deposit of silt and fine sand (unit 3) implying a change of the base level. It is suggested from 14C data that the erosion surface was cut during a low sea level before 6000 BP. After that period, a 2000-2500 year period of fluvial deposition occurred which was followed by a marine transgression. The cuts described in the paper allow a reconstruction of the events. Er hat also ein neues Bett gegraben, enger als das TaI selbst, in welchem er jetzt màandert. Im flupabwârts gelegenen Teil (etwa 2 km lang) des Boyer-Flusses hat sich durch die Erosion eine Terrasse von 8 -10 m Hôhe eingeschnitten. In den Schnitten beobachtet man an der Basis eine Erosions-sohle. die in den Goldwaith-Ton eingeschnitten ist (Einheit 1), darùber eine kiesige. fluviatile Schicht (Einheit 2), die Baumstàmme und verschiedene organische Reste enthàlt. Dièse Einheit ist ihrerseits bedeckt von einer Sequenz von geschichtetem Schlick und feinem Sand (Einheit 3), welche eine Veràderung des Basis-Niveaus ausdrùckt. Entsprechend den erreichten Datierungen auf 14C soil die Erosionssohle vor 6000 Jahren v.u.Z. wâhrend eines niedrigen Meeres-Niveaus in die Mùndung eingeschnitten worden sein. AnschlieBiend sei das Niveau wieder leicht angestiegen und der FlufJ soil wâhrend einer Dauer von ungefâhr 2000-2500 Jahren aufgeschùttet haben. Auf dièse Phase soil eine Ùbegangsohase von einigen Metern gefolgt sein, in welcher die feine Sequenz an der Oberflàche abgelagert worden sei
