Аbstract: This paper analyses the relationship between the accessibility improvement and demographic pattern in the border region of Euro region Danube 21 in Serbia. In many CBC projects accessibility has been identified as a key factor for their territorial success. But according to the European Spatial Planning Observation Network (ESPON) project and strategies, accessibility patterns are strongly associated with dynamic population pattern in border areas. The demographic challenges that some cross-border areas are facing are structural and permanent. Therefore the paper evaluated and assessed demography factors as the main factors in accessibility analyses in this depopulation cross-border area. The article includes key messages for policy-makers for transportation designing and implementing development transportation strategies specifically tailored to the needs of these regions.
