Intensive care units are units where patients, who have the need for life support that may benefit from observation and treatment, are monitored. With these characteristics, decrease in risk of death and providence of early recovery have been a source of hope for patients and their families. In these units, most commonly the critically ill patients, who require organ failure treatment, are treated. Additionally, intensive care units environment are the places where ethical issues may be encountered in the treatment of critically ill patients. Health care workers are faced with a number of ethical issues; even they may be in the position of decision maker sometimes. In such cases, importance of the ethical concepts and, values and opinions of the people appears. In this article, ethical uncertainties of catheter insertion of a case that is at terminal period, staying at intensive care unit, has multi-catheterization (7 units) and a new catheter had to be inserted, are criticized.
