抜歯術は,歯 科治療 の うちで最 も古 くか ら行われてい る治療で,有 史以前の原始時代の人々が痛みのある歯牙 を石 ノ ミによって打ち砕いたのが,始 ま りといわれてい る.そ の後,紀 元前1250年 頃在世 していたアス クレビ オス(Aesculapius)が 抜歯術を 伝承 し,ヒ ポ クラテス (Hippocrates BC 460~375)に よって一応の形態 ができ 上がった とされ ている1).以 来,数 多 くの術式や手技, 病理組織学的研 究が行われ てきたが,力 学的検索が行わ れ るようにな ったのは,骨 の構造について種 々の解 析が なされ るよ うになった近代に入 ってか らである.特 に顎 顔面 の力学的構造 と抜歯術を直接結び付けた研究は非常 に少な く,歯 牙 と歯根膜の関係 を取 り扱った ものでは, 吉松 ら2)の引 っ張 り試験器に よる歯の引き抜 き強さ と歯 根膜の支持強 さの研究,角 ら3)の フ ァイルによる残根牽 引強 さの実験,中 本 ら4)の歯根表面積 と抜歯圧の関係な どがあげられ る.ま た,抜 歯器具 と抜歯力についての研 究では,坂 下 ら5,6)がエレベーター ・鉗子 に 加えられ る 抜歯圧の測定 を行 っている.ま た,田 中7)は エ レベ ータ ーの作用を挺子 ・輪軸 ・楔の3成 分 に,川 本8)は 鉗子の
