Kebiasaan individu yang berolahraga di area dekat dengan perkotaan sudah menjadi kebutuhan untuk meningkatkan kesehatan masing-masing. Namun disisi lain efek dari polusi udara menjadi permasalahan penting untuk menyeimbangkan antara manfaat dan resiko dalam berolahraga di area yang berpolusi. Dengan demikian tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efek sesaat polusi udara terhadap FVC dan FEV­ 1 pada individu yang sehat. Penelitian ini menggunakan eksperimen semu dengan pendekatan One group pretest-posttest design . 8 subjek dipilih dengan kriteria inklusi yang sudah ditentukan. rata-rata usia 19,87 ± 1,24 tahun; tinggi, 166,81 ± 6,31 cm; dan berat, 56,30 ± 3,79 kg; FAT, 12,95 ± 2,76 %; BMI, 20,06 ± 0,95. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa tingginya tingkat polusi udara sejalan dengan penurunan pada FVC dan FEV 1 . Dengan tidak adanya penegakan peraturan lingkungan yang berarti untuk meredam pertumbuhan industrialisasi dan urbanisasi, kualitas udara akan terus memburuk, membuat para atlet semakin terpapar oleh polusi udara. Dengan demikian, inisiatif kesehatan masyarakat berskala besar, termasuk penelitian epidemiologis yang diperluas, diperlukan untuk melindungi populasi dan kebiasaan individu maupun masyarakat umum dalam berolahraga di luar ruangan khusus nya di stadion atau alun-alun yang dekat dengan perkotaan. Habits of individuals who exercise in areas close to urban areas have become a necessity to improve their health. But on the other hand the effects of air pollution are important issues to balance the benefits and risks in exercising in polluted areas. Thus the purpose of this study was to determine the momentary effects of air pollution on FVC and FEV 1  in healthy individuals. This research uses quasi-experimental with One group pretest-posttest design approach. 8 subjects were selected with predetermined inclusion criteria. average age of 19.87 ± 1.24 years; height, 166.81 ± 6.31 cm; and weight, 56.30 ± 3.79 kg; FAT, 12.95 ± 2.76%; BMI, 20.06 ± 0.95. The results showed that the high level of air pollution is in line with the decrease in FVC and FEV 1 . In the absence of meaningful enforcement of environmental regulations to curb the growth of industrialization and urbanization, air quality will continue to deteriorate, leaving athletes increasingly exposed to air pollution. Thus, large-scale public health initiatives, including expanded epidemiological research, are needed to protect the population and habits of individuals and the general public in exercising outdoors in special stadiums or squares close to urban areas.
