Le tragique quotidien (1896) est perçu ici comme l'aboutissement d'un travail créatif et critique. Maeterlinck revient au tragique après l'écriture de ses tragédies symbolistes et l'envisage non plus comme un conflit entre normes contradictoires mais comme une donnée inhérente à tout être humain. Afin de saisir l'originalité de cette pensée d'un tragique sans pathos, l'article reviendra d'abord sur ce que cette notion signifiait au XIX siècle. Dans la seconde partie, nous étudierons les caractéristiques du tragique dans les tragédies de Maeterlinck pour mettre en évidence le lien unissant le premier à l'essai de 1896. Enfin, nous aborderons rapidement le tragique post-Maeterlinck à travers l'exemple du philosophe M. Scheler.Le tragique quotidien (1896) se percibe aquí como la culminación de un trabajo creativo y crítico. Maeterlinck vuelve al sentimiento trágico tras escribir tragedias simbolistas y ya no lo contempla como un conflicto entre normas contradictorias sino como algo inherente a cualquier ser humano. Con la finalidad de apreciar la originalidad de este pensamiento de un trágico sin pathos, este artículo abordará primero el significado de este concepto en el siglo XIX. En la segunda parte, se estudiarán las características de lo trágico en las tragedias de Maeterlinck para resaltar el vínculo entre este concepto y el ensayo de 1896. Por último, consideramos sumariamente el sentimiento trágico después de Maeterlinck, tomando como ejemplo el filósofo M. SchelerLe tragique quotidien (1896) is examined in this paper as a product of creative and critical work. Maeterlinck returned to the concept of tragedy (le tragique) after writing his Symbolist tragedies and conceived it not as a conflict between contradictory norms but as something inherent to every human being. In order to understand the originality of the idea of tragedy without pathos, this paper firstly draws on the meaning of the concept in the 19th century. In the second part, I analyze the characteristics of tragedy in Maeterlinck’s tragedies to highlight the link between the former and his 1896 text. Finally, I briefly examine the meaning of the post-Maeterlinck concept of tragedy through the example of the philosopher M. Scheler
